ThriftBig is a marketplace that showcases unique treasures from local thrift stores. Our dedicated treasure scouts visit these stores, uncover hidden gems, and list them on ThriftBig for you to browse – all without leaving your home.
Once you find an item you love, check the location displayed on the product page. You can visit the store in person to view and purchase the item directly. However, since all ThriftBig users can see the same items, high-demand treasures often sell out quickly, even before you arrive at the store.
To ensure your item is available when you arrive at the store, you can secure it on ThriftBig. When you place an order, our in-store representative will secure the item for you so it’s ready when you arrive. A small service fee helps cover the efforts of our treasure scouts who handpick and list these items, as well as our in-store team members who secure them for you.
ThriftBig gives you the unique opportunity to buy items from local thrift stores, pay securely online, and pick them up at the store. Unlike other local marketplaces where you might need to meet strangers at their home or in public places, ThriftBig provides a safe and convenient shopping experience. You can browse curated inventory from the comfort of your home, secure your purchase online, and simply head to the store to collect your treasure.
After placing your order on ThriftBig, you’ll first receive a confirmation email letting you know we’re processing your order. Once your order is processed and the item is secured for pickup, you’ll receive a second email titled “Ready for Pickup” from the ThriftBig team.
Important: Please do not go to the store before receiving the “Ready for Pickup” email. Additionally, we kindly ask that you pick up your item the same day. If the item is not picked up by the end of the business day, your order may be canceled, and the item could be placed back on sale.
Despite our team and treasure scouts regularly updating inventory on ThriftBig, there are cases where items sell quickly in-store and may remain online briefly after they are sold. To minimize this, all items on ThriftBig have a short expiration date, and listings are automatically removed once that time passes.
Additionally, when our treasure scouts list an item, a timer is displayed, showing how long it’s been listed. The longer an item has been online, the higher the chance it may already have been sold.
While these features help manage listings and reduce outdated inventory, we cannot guarantee the item will still be available by the time you visit the store. To avoid disappointment, we recommend securing the item by paying for it on ThriftBig before heading to the store. This ensures it is held for you until your arrival.
If the item is significantly different from the pictures provided in the listing, you may initiate a return and refund process with ThriftBig. In this case, we will refund the cost of the item. However, the service fee is non-refundable as it covers the sourcing, locating, and securing of the item for you.
Please note that discrepancies in titles, descriptions, dimensions, or other listing text, as well as the differences in color or appearance due to lighting or photographic effects and normal wear and tear (expected in secondhand items) are NOT grounds for return and refund. Return and refund may be approved only if the item received is demonstrably different from the item pictured (e.g., it is a different product or significantly damaged compared to the photo). Please also note that refunds can be processed as long as the item hasn’t left the store. We cannot process returns or issue refunds once the item has been taken away from the store.
In rare cases, items may sell out before your order is processed. If this happens, we will notify you promptly and issue a full refund.
Yes, we will issue a full refund, including the service fee, if there’s a major discrepancy between the item and its listed pictures. i.e. if the item received is demonstrably different from the item pictured. Discrepancies in titles, descriptions, dimensions, or other listing text, as well as the differences in color or appearance due to lighting or photographic effects and normal wear and tear (expected in secondhand items) are NOT grounds for return and refund.

Refunds may take 5-10 business days to be fully processed and appear in your account.
The timer on the product page shows how long an item has been listed on ThriftBig. The longer the timer runs, the higher the chances that the item may have already been sold. Please note, the timer does not confirm item availability; it simply indicates when the listing was created. To secure an item, purchase it online and visit the store to pick it up.
Yes, absolutely!
If you can’t find the item you’re looking for or if there aren’t enough listings in a category that interests you, ThriftBig has a notification feature to keep you updated. On every product page, below the “Item Location”, you’ll find a section that says, “Not the perfect match? Sign up to get notified about new listings.” Just leave your email, and you’ll receive instant notifications when new items in that category are listed. You can also use this feature on any category page to stay informed about new additions. You can unsubscribe at any time if you’re no longer interested.
Items listed on ThriftBig come with a pre-set expiration date, and our team members also have the option to remove sold items from the marketplace. These are the primary reasons why listings may be removed.
While we provide information about the item’s location, please note that most items on ThriftBig are curated and listed by our treasure scouting team, not the store staff. As such, the store staff may not be able to assist or provide information about items listed on ThriftBig.

If your store is located outside of Austin or Texas, you can also leave a message on the Contact Us page, and we will inform you when we expand to your area. You’ll be the first to know when we begin offering services near you.
On every product page, you’ll find Facebook and WhatsApp sharing buttons that allow you to share that particular product with friends. By clicking these buttons, you can easily create a post on Facebook or send a message via WhatsApp, helping your friends discover the item.
